Keto Mexican Pizza Low Carb Recipe | KetoVale

Keto Mexican Pizza

If you love Mexican pizza, you’ll know how tasty it is. The bad news is that regular pizzas are not keto friendly. Normally it consists of yeast, caster sugar, plain flour, vegetable oil, and other high-carb ingredients. However, by making a few simple tweaks to the recipe, we can make it low carb and keto friendly.

This Mexican pizza has a wonderful crust made of almond flour and protein powder as the main flour. To make the dough, we add egg, almond milk, olive oil and butter.

For topping, we have browned ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning, bacon bits, tomato, black olives, marinara sauce, and cheese. To make it even more keto friendly, you can use homemade taco seasoning instead of store-bought product to avoid the nasty stuff.

Low Carb Mexican Pizza

When preparing this pizza dough with almond flour and unflavored protein powder, you will get a good looking and delicious crust that is very similar to the appearance of regular pizza but very healthy.

Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix almond flour with protein powder then add melted butter, olive oil, eggs and almond milk. When adding almond milk, make sure to add little and mix it well as you add. Knead until you get a mixture that is not sticky. If necessary add a little more almond flour. Let this dough rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Stretch the dough on a clean surface and make a round shape. If desired, it can be rectangular or square. Put it in a pizza baking tray. Bake the dough at 250F for about 15-20 minutes (depends on your size and thickness) until edge just starts to turn light golden brown then remove from the oven.
Forming a round crust then bake in oven
  3. While waiting for the crust to be ready, brown the ground beef with coconut oil and taco seasoning in a hot frying pan for 8-10 minutes until cooked. Drain the liquid if necessary. Set aside.
  4. Once the crust is ready, spread marinara sauce on the crust then add chopped bacon, cooked ground beef, chopped tomato (without seed) and black olive slices. Finally, add cheese on the top. If you wish to, you can add dried oregano or spicy flakes. Bake the pizza for about 8-10 minutes at 300F or until cheese is melted.
Add ground beef and bacon topping
  5. Cut into 8 slices and enjoy!
