What do you imagine when you hear the expression “bacon and eggs?” A traditional English breakfast? A dull routine dish considered to be perfect for a morning meal?
While bacon and eggs are a great combination when you make them the traditional way, things can be totally different! Just try some new ways of cooking eggs and bacon in the oven and you are sure to enjoy them.
Making eggs and bacon on the stove can be messy. The bacon fat and oil from the eggs always seem to splash all over the place. You may have even burned yourself trying to make eggs and bacon on the stove.
While it won’t be any less messy in the oven, at least you can take a break from cleaning the stove! You will likely need to clean your oven after a few times making this recipe.
However, making eggs and bacon in the oven leaves your stove open so you can cook other things. It’s also a great option if you’re not good with the stove.
Together, bacon and eggs are a great source of dietary fat. They also contain virtually no carbs. Make sure the bacon you buy comes from clean sources.
It should come from organic pork that is not treated with hormones or antibiotics. Also, make sure your bacon does not contain added sugars, nitrates, or lots of preservatives.
Eggs contain the most nutrition when they come from organic, pasture-raised sources. You can even see the difference in the yolk. High-quality egg yolks have a bright orange/yellow color while conventional eggs look dull and unhealthy.
