What is a perfect breakfast? Is it an English Breakfast with bacon and eggs? Is it a European breakfast with pancakes and yogurt? Not at all. It is a Keto breakfast with Keto Avocado Breakfast Muffins!
Traditional muffins are not keto-friendly because they use carb-laden, inflammatory flours, such as white or wheat flour. They also tend to contain refined sugar.
You can turn just about any regular muffin recipe into a low-carb treat by swapping white flour for almond or coconut flour and a keto-approved sweetener in place of refined sugar.
However, this recipe uses none of those ingredients! We make our breakfast muffins with high-quality beef sausage, cheese, avocado, and heavy cream. It’s the perfect keto breakfast to take with you on the go. They will fill you up and keep you satisfied all morning.
When picking out beef sausage, always go with an organic, grass-fed brand that contains no added sugars, hormones, antibiotics, or other harmful chemicals.
If you can’t find anything like this at your local grocery store, then check a nearby butcher’s shop for the freshest cut of meat. The same goes for eggs. Look for organic, pasture-raised as these tend to be higher in some nutrients.
Avocados are an excellent source of healthy monounsaturated fats. They are cholesterol-free and have naturally low levels of sugar and sodium.
They are are a nutrient-dense fruit that plays a major role in healthy diets, contributing almost 20 vitamins, nutrients, and phytonutrients. A perfect combination with beef sausages, cheese, and eggs, aren’t they?
These muffins are best eaten warm out of the oven. However, you can easily make a large batch of these and freeze them. Pop them in the microwave for a few minutes when you’re late and need to take your breakfast to go!
