Cauliflower Rice

The cauliflower rice is the perfect side dish for many types of meat. It’s a very simple preparation and you can replace your regular rice with riced cauliflower. I have tried preparing it baked, boiled and in the microwave. The latter has a texture more similar to rice, so I prefer it.

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder for flavor, optional
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder for flavor, optional
  • 1 tsp parsley optional
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp chilli pepper for flavor, optional

Instructions
  1. After washing and drying the cauliflower thoroughly, discard the leaves and chop it into small chunks.
  2. Transfer the chunks in the food processor and pulse until rice-sized bits are obtained.
  3. Pour the cauliflower bits into a heat-safe bowl. Fold together with the butter then season with pepper and salt. Use the “cooking” function of the microwave to warm the seasoned cauliflower bits for around 1.5 to 2 minutes. If there are no microwaves available, simply stir-fry the cauliflower in a pan. Stir well with the garlic powder, cumin powder, chili pepper, chopped onion, butter, and any other seasonings of your choice.

  4. Serve with parsley. Best eaten warm.
