Turkish Beef and Veal Kebab

Famous Turkish kebabs are one of the most popular street foods in the world. There are hundreds of different shapes, tastes, and combinations. This one is my favorite easy snack-to go. Small kebabs are based on the combination of two different types of meat and then combined with onions and spices.

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions
  1. Combine the ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well with your hands and tightly wrap with plastic foil. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a large, non-stick grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the meat from the refrigerator and shape 2-inches long kebabs. Place into the grill pan and cook 7-8 minutes, turning occasionally.
  3. Serve immediately with some greens

These kebabs are traditionally prepared on the grill which is previously greased with tallow. However, you can easily get the same taste by using you classic grilling methods, or even a high-quality, non-stick grill pan. Optionally, add some different spices like garlic powder or dried basil. You really can't go wrong with this one. Serve with some onions or grilled peppers, and enjoy!
