Turkish Beef and Veal Kebab

Famous Turkish kebabs are one of the most popular street foods in the world. There are hundreds of different shapes, tastes, and combinations. This one is my favorite easy snack-to go. Small kebabs are based on the combination of two different types of meat and then combined with onions and spices.

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions
  1. Use your hands to mix everything together in a large bowl. Wrap the mixture tightly with plastic foil. Chill in the fridge for half an hour.
  2. Set the stove to medium-high heat. Place a large non-stick grill pan over the stove to preheat. Take out the meat from the fridge. Shape them into 2-inch logs before cooking them on the grill pan for 7-8 minutes. Turn the kebabs occasionally to cook all sides.
  3. Serve immediately with your favorite greens.

These kebabs are traditionally prepared on the grill which is previously greased with tallow. However, you can easily get the same taste by using you classic grilling methods, or even a high-quality, non-stick grill pan. Optionally, add some different spices like garlic powder or dried basil. You really can't go wrong with this one. Serve with some onions or grilled peppers, and enjoy!
