We all know that wild salmon is delicious, on top of being extremely healthy. This time we’re proposing you a recipe that combines steamed salmon with spinach and mushrooms, making it an easy-to-make, well-rounded, filling and healthy keto dinner (or lunch).
Whenever possible, we advise you to choose wild salmon instead of farmed – it has more iron, calcium and potassium, and farmed salmon is often treated with antibiotics and contains different contaminants.
This recipe is extremely easy to make; the only delicate thing about it is the timing, so that you don’t end up with cold salmon and hot spinach and mushrooms.
This is why we advise you to cook the spinach, mushrooms, and, if possible, the cream, while the salmon is steaming. Alternatively, you can cook the spinach and the mushrooms in the same pot (by putting the mushrooms 2 minutes before the spinach).

Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper You can add extra spices such as garlic, ginger, and chili flakes. Place the salmon in a steamer and settle it over the boiling water to steam. Leave for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, sauté the spinach in half a tbsp of butter until the greens become tender enough. This can take around 3-5 minutes.
Chop the mushrooms into slices and sauté them in the remaining butter in a separate pan. Cook for about 5 minutes.
In a separate pot, combine the lemon juice with the heavy cream. Cook this mix and stir occasionally for 2-3 minutes.
Arrange the salmon, mushroom, and spinach on a single plate. Spread the cream all over. Serve and enjoy!

- Season salmon with salt and pepper then place it in a steamer on top of the water. Steam for 10 minutes.
- At the same time, cook 200 g of raw spinach in ½ tbsp. butter until the spinach is tender (3 to 5 minutes)
- Slice the mushrooms and cook them in ½ tbsp. butter for approx. 5 minutes
- Pour the heavy cream in a pot, mix it with the lemon juice and cook for 2-3 minutes
- Put the salmon, spinach and mushrooms in individual plates and pour the cream on top.
- Enjoy!
